Art Clay World Europe Festival Contest 2011 - Praque

Theme: European Culture
Title: Christianity
Used Materials: copper metalclay and silver metalclay
Hight of the cross: 9 cm

Description:

I have chosen Christianity to share an important part of our European Culture. With the coarse structure of the cross and the stylized finished off Jesus I tried to express the contrast between the European and Asian techniques. I preferred an object instead of a wearable piece of jewellery as to accentuate the moulding properties of metal clay.

Silver Accessories Contest 2007 - Tokyo Japan

Theme: Change
Titel: Division
Used Materials: silver metalclay, UV resin with color pigments

Description:

The necklace symbolises a big change in my life and that of my sisters consequent on the loss of our mother. The teardrop in the middle, the former heart of the circle, symbolises the departed mother. The coloured rings symbolise the four daughters and an early born departed brother. The downwards pointing ribbons of the rings symbolise our state of mind caused by the loss. I selected different colours of green for the front to symbolise our earthly living and similarities as sisters.

I opted for heavenly blue for the back of the hanger in memory of my mother. You can wear the pendant both sides to make a nice 'change'.
